About the artist

I am a self taught artist. While growing up, my mother encouraged me to express myself through music and the visual arts. At an early age, I began painting and drawing.  As a young adult I sought a career as a fashion illustrator and attended the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York.

I now live in Pennsylvania, where I have studied oil painting at the Banana Factory, under William Christine, a well known local artist who has  exhibited in New York City, Philadelphia, Washington DC and Allentown Art Museum.

The unique style reflected in my oil paintings and photography derives from my love of nature and the beauty in my surroundings.  Constantly evolving in my artistic endeavors, I design beaded jewelry and enjoy interior decorating.

In September of 2004 I was diagnosed with cancer.  While going through and recoverying from the tedious treatments of chemotherapy and radiation,I had a lot of time to think about my life. What I would do differently to be more socially aware and to help others.  I decided  to share and donate my artwork to different cancer organizations.  My first donation went to the Lily Pharmaceutical Oncology on Canvas 2008 exhibit which was touring different cities in the United States. In April 2008, I was invited to exhibit at the Raritan Bay Medical Center Spring Art Show which benefited the oncology wing .  This exhibit was made possible through the faith of my dear  friend, Bea Braswell.  It was a wonderful event to  to be a part of of (to read more about this exhibit, click "exhibit" tab) I was estactic to be invited to return in April 2009.

Although, I always had the passion for art, I believe having cancer changed my whole perspective on many things, it was the turningpoint in my life that made me realize the talentI possessed was being wasted.   Through out my life, I just accepted it, but never really appreciated it.   I know they say every story has a silver lining,  this is more than a silver lining, its a purpose in my life,  to be able share my artwork with you.

I have  submitted artwork in several juried exhibits: the 25th Annual Photograph Contest with Canon. First Street Gallery in New York. Lancaster County Art Association National Juried Exhibition adn the Allied Artists of America Exhibit.

I am a member of the Allied Artists of America.

Without this sounding cliche, I want to thank my husband, my daughters, family and friends for being so supportive of me.   Encouraging me every step of the way.  Believing in me, more then I believed in myself at times.  This website is dedicated to you.
